Location Lippe Gigapixel – small town, big picture
The small town of Lage near the Teutoburg Forest is changing. Large construction projects are being planned and are already being implemented, while other older buildings are making way for new ones.
The tower of a feed factory is about to be demolished in the summer of 2011. We took the opportunity to create a “gigapixel image” of Lage from the roof of the building beforehand. It is almost certainly the largest image ever taken of Lage.
700 photographs were combined to create an image with 3.3 billion pixels, totaling almost 10 gigabytes of data. The result is a view of the small town in unprecedented resolution and from a completely new perspective.
