Some things last longer – A light in rough seas
The Tower of Hercules was built almost 2000 years ago under the reign of the Roman emperor Trajan on the
foundations of an even older Phoenician lighthouse. Today, the “Torre de Hércules” off A Coruña on the Spanish Atlantic coast is the oldest lighthouse in operation on our planet; the word sustainability is certainly appropriate here. Then as now, its beacon guides sailors off the rough Galician “Costa del Morte.”
A beautiful thought: the beacon that has survived waves and winds, the comings and goings of gods and their followers, of rulers, agitators, and saints.
We wish you all a very merry and relaxing Christmas season and a happy, healthy, peaceful, and successful 2018.
